Java APM agent - Spring and Spring Boot applications

Installation steps

1. Download the latest Java agent from

   copy

   wget https://atatus-artifacts.s3.amazonaws.com/atatus-java/downloads/latest/atatus-java-agent.jar
   

2. Add the application name and license key in Java options.

   copy

   java -javaagent:/path/to/atatus-java-agent.jar \
           -Datatus.license_key="APM_LIC_KEY" \
           -Datatus.app_name="YOUR_APP_NAME" \
           -jar my-java-application.jar
   

   Note:

   • /path/to/atatus-java-agent.jar - the full path of the downloaded atatus-java-agent.jar file.
   • my-java-application.jar - is your application jar file.
   • APM_LIC_KEY - is your APM license key.
   • YOUR_APP_NAME - is your application name.

Example:

 java -javaagent:/opt/atatus/atatus-java-agent.jar \
        -Datatus.license_key="lic_apm_1e8c9f02ad423f8dfecb95f6fc15fe13" \
        -Datatus.app_name="Java API Server" \
        -jar api-server.jar

3. Restart your Spring Boot server to view your performance data within minutes.
