HttpClient Instrumentation with .NET APM Agent - Atatus Docs

Atatus .NET APM traces outbound HttpClient requests, creating a span for each external HTTP call inside an active transaction and propagating distributed trace context to downstream services.

Package installation

HttpDiagnosticsSubscriber ships in the core Atatus package, so no separate package installation is required.

If you are already using the Atatus.NetCoreAll package, outbound HTTP requests are traced automatically and no additional subscription code is required.

Register the diagnostics subscriber once during application startup so Atatus can create spans from the emitted activities.

What Atatus captures ?

A span for each outbound HttpClient request, including the HTTP method, destination URL, and response status code.
